A car was trapped between the pavement and a wall after crashing into a basement in Salisbury Road, Hove, at 11.08am today (March 1).

The emergency services were called to the scene at the English Language Centre but it is believed no one was hurt.

A mother was able to walk away from the crash and then free her young baby from the back seat.

She was quickly comforted by passers-by and then taken to a nearby ambulance where she was treated for shock.

Firefighters were able to lift the car from the ten ft drop by around 1pm. More news from The Argus
