Community plans for a temporary ice-rink at a prime seafront site are to be probed.

Last year, Brighton and Hove City Council gave the go-ahead for a professional survey to see if the plans for King Alfred Leisure Centre in Hove would be safe.

But bosses previously said this was not a sign they are giving the ice-rink plans the go-ahead.

Brighton resident, Simon James, who put forward the plans, said there had been a delay in gaining access to the site as the local authority had to carry out an air test due to asbestos concern.

However, Mr James said Jon Orrell, of Hemsley Orrell Partnership, would carry out the inspection shortly.
