You know that Brighton’s arts scene is thriving when the Fringe gets its own Fringe.
Brighton Five Pound Fringe, or £5ringe, is launching this year in order to cater for art lovers and performers on a budget this May.
Organiser Brian Mitchell said: “With everyone keeping a keen eye on their finances, Brighton £5ringe offers audiences a chance not to miss out on what’s happening in May with the assurance it won’t break their budgets.
Comedy, theatre, film, visual arts and music are set for intimate venues throughout the city such as the Phoenix Brighton Gallery and Studios, Bom-Banes Restaurant, The Latest Music Bar and The Rock Inn in Kemp Town.
Britain’s first brochure-less Fringe is to be run entirely by social media with no ticket over £5.
It is also free for artist to perform.
Brian added: “We hope to bring back spontaneity and a sense of belonging to Brighton’s arts scene every May.”
There is no deadline for applications and anyone can apply.
