The world's best marble players rolled into a Sussex pub on Good Friday.

The British and World Marbles Championship took place at The Greyhound pub in Tinsley Green, near Crawley.

Organisers celebrated 80 years since the first formal tournament took place, although the game has been played at Tinsley Green for hundreds of years.

The event featured experienced and new players, both local and from abroad.

Barry Ray of the Handcross Rebels celebrated playing every year of the Queen's reign with both team and individual titles to his name.

Jon Best, landlord of The Greyhound, said: “A weekend of bank holidays, chocolate, beer and marbles – what more could a visitor ask for?”
