Meat thief caught in Bexhill policing operation

A meat thief has been convicted following an undercover police operation.

Jason Nicholls, 40, was spotted looking suspicious by plain clothed police officers leaving a Tesco store in Ravenside Retail Park, Bexhill on Monday and was found to have stolen meat.

Nicholls, of Rock Close, Hastings, received a suspended six weeks sentence at Hastings Magistrates’ Court yesterday after admitting the offence.

He was arrested as policing teams across Rother District conducted an operation to target shoplifters who have recently been targeting Bexhill.

Stealing meat to no doubt sell on, to feed another habit. Police time, Court costs and free Legal fees should be better used to use for rehab of life skills.

Looking suspicious? The mind boggles. More likely, the Officers knew him of old.

There is obviously a bit more to this, because he certainly wouldn't have been given a custodial sentence for a first offence.

They must've had a lot at STEAK to get this conviction!

I'll leave quietly.

The sentence should automaticly be a fine of 10 times the value of what they've stolen saves all the arguements on whats a fair sentence
