A councillor has become the first Green in West Sussex.
James Doyle, 47, has represented Worthing Pier on West Sussex County Council since 2009 and will now represent the Green Party.
Coun Doyle left the Liberal Democrats in 2011 after standing for MP for East Worthing and Shoreham for the party in the 2005 and 2010 general elections.
He has served as an independent councillor since last year.
