Nina Dodd in her Eurovision dress
Bizarre ballads and dodgy dresses.
It is time once again time for the Eurovision song contest.
The annual homage to Europop takes place this year in Azerbaijan with the UK entering veteran singer Engelbert Humperdinck.
Brighton resident Nina Dodd is ready to celebrate the winners and commiserate those with nul points after planning a three-day Eurovision party.
The 45-year-old has knitted a special dress featuring the flags of all of the 51 nations that have ever taken part in the song contest.
She said: “I have been watching it ever since I was a child and been having parties for nearly 30 years.
“I love the nonsense and the craziness and the terrible songs and the good songs.
“I also knit so I decided the best way to combine the two things I love most was to make the dress.”
The Duke of York’s Picturehouse is putting on its annual screening of the show again this year.
The sell-out event is officially Britain's biggest Eurovision party.
A spokeswoman said: “We invented the format which is now copied around the country, we are name checked live every year by the BBC by Graham Norton (which gets a roof raising cheer) and have the greatest resident compère ever in Bugaloo Stu.
“We raise lots of money for Sussex Beacon.
“In short our Eurovision party is now an institution, we put our heart and soul into this party, it is camp fabulous and we love it.”
