The only people who ever built up expectations around this demo were the local Conservatives. It was an enjoyable demo. No trouble was wanted or expected and we achieved exactly what we wanted. It was good to see a few faces I haven't seen on a Brighton demo since the Iraq war demos.

Anyway, now that you've accomplished that aim and Iran is safe will your next demonstration be to do the same with Syria?

  That's my point exactly. It seems unlikely that a damp squib would have had a lot of impact on his trade. He doesn't give a lot of detail though...
