Man jailed for £4,600 cocaine stash
10:59am Wednesday 20th June 2012 in News
A man found with nearly £4,600 worth of cocaine has been jailed for three and a half years.
Shane Taylor, 27, was staying at the Premier Inn, Polegate, when police carried out the search.
Lewes Crown Court heard that they found £4,600 worth of the class A drug along with scales and £255.20 in cash.
The court made a destruction order for the drugs and seized the cash under the Proceeds of Crime Act.
Taylor, of Levett Avenue, Polegate, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine.
Detective Sergeant Gavin Patch said: "This was a good result with Taylor receiving a substantial sentence."

Is the time served in Premier Inn, Polegate, taken off the prison sentence?
I'm baffled as to why he'd be staying there in the first place, seeing as he is a Polegate resident. Clearly living the dream. The Alan Partridge of coke dealing.
I shudder to think what his mini-bar bill must have been like. Maybe that's why he started dealing - to pay it off. The debt just spiralled out of control.

Still, not a bad result I suppose.
