  • "Shame they couldn't have waited a few days and then confiscated cocaine worth £10 and around £5,000 in cash to be added to local law enforcement budgets.

Still, not a bad result I suppose."

Man jailed for £4,600 cocaine stash

A man found with nearly £4,600 worth of cocaine has been jailed for three and a half years.

Shane Taylor, 27, was staying at the Premier Inn, Polegate, when police carried out the search.

Lewes Crown Court heard that they found £4,600 worth of the class A drug along with scales and £255.20 in cash.

The court made a destruction order for the drugs and seized the cash under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

Taylor, of Levett Avenue, Polegate, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine.

Detective Sergeant Gavin Patch said: "This was a good result with Taylor receiving a substantial sentence."
