Worthing man dies after head-on crash in Horsham

A driver has died after a head-on crash.

Edward Upton, 68, of Carisbrooke Drive, Worthing, died in the Royal London Hospital on Tuesday, July 3.

Mr Upton was driving a red Nissan car in Dorking Road, Horsham, at 4.45pm on Sunday, July 1 when the crash happened.

His 65-year-old passenger, also from Worthing, was taken to East Surrey Hospital with a fractured pelvis.

A 36-year-old man from Staines, Middlesex, who was driving a Honda, was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

A 32-year-old woman, also from Staines, went to Kings College Hospital in London with neck and leg injuries and remains in a critical condition.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision to call 101, quoting Operation Bydown.
