  • "OMG Betty000 is suggesting that you deserve to die if you want to cross the road. How narcissistic can you get? Clearly you think its about you. It's speed "limit" not "target" get it, driving is not a competitive sport. Everybody speeds along this stretch of road, not a single driver pays attention the the speed "LIMIT" dare I say, everyone is racing and if you try to stay within the speed limit other drivers become angry and drive dangerously as though they want to teach you some kind of sick lesson. You are part of the problem Betty000. We need solutions."

An 86-year-old woman is in a serious condition after a two car smash on Brighton seafront yesterday evening (July 19).

The accident happened soon after 6.15pm on Marine Drive at the junction with Roedean Road.

The elderly woman's green Toyota was travelling west along the road when it hit a black Audi travelling in the opposite direction.

Fire crews had to cut the 86-year-old local women free before she was taken by ambulance to the Royal Sussex County Hospital.

The 34-year-old male Audi driver received only minor injuries

The road was closed until 10.30pm while emergency services tended to the drivers and cleared the road.

Police are appealing for witnesses and have asked anyone who saw what happened to call them on 101 quoting operation Priory.
