Sussex Police and Health and Safety Executive probe fall injuries at Arundel skip firm
11:39am Thursday 26th July 2012 in News
Two men were badly hurt in falls at a skip hire company near Arundel.
One was left fighting for his life after they fell 30 feet to the ground.
Police and the Health and Safety Executive are investigating.
The men were injured at South Coast Skips, at Rudford Industrial Estate in Ford Road, Ford, at about 8.50am on Wednesday.
Sussex Police said they received a report "that two men working there had fallen some 30 feet to the ground whilst working at height and had sustained serious injuries".
A 66-year-old man from Waterlooville, Hampshire, was taken by air ambulance to the Royal London Hospital. He was in a critical condition last night.
A second man, aged 21 and said to be local, was taken by ambulance to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton. He was said to be in a serious condition.
Both Sussex Police and the Health and Safety Executive have confirmed they are investigating the circumstances of the falls.
