People evacuated from Horsham flats after bike fire

Residents had to be pulled from a block of flats after an arsonist set fire to a motorcycle.
The fire took place in Laurel Walk, Horsham, at 12.50am today.
Initially the fire was reported to West Sussex Fire and Rescue as “persons reported”.
But it did not actually spread to the block although it was smoke-logged.
Three people had to be helped from the block following the fire which crews from Crawley and Horsham attended.
A spokeswoman said that the bike was set fire to deliberately and that a fence caught alight as a consequence.
