Dog ice cream goes on sale on Bognor seafront

Man's best friend has a new favourite food – and it is not steak or tripe. It may sound barking but ice cream is top of the list for these canines.

The Prom Pitstop Kiosk in Esplanade, Bognor, has started selling ice cream for dogs. Pooches can slurp down either apple, carrot and banana or apple and strawberry.

So far about 30 tubs costing £3 each have been sold. The tubs are re-sealable in case Rex feels like a break or if the weather turns chilly mid feast.

Kiosk manager Kenton Batley said: “When the kiosk owner first told me that he was doing this I thought it was strange. But actually the dogs love it. They lick around the tub and it is really popular.”

£3 a tub seems a bit steep , most dogs would settle for a plain old 99 !

It's a while since I bought a tub of ice cream but £3 seems a bit steep, works out quite expensive if you've got more than 1 dog though.

OMG £3 what a rip off!!

None of those flavours would be liked by my dog - tripe maybe!
