Life of a councillor revealed by West Sussex County Council

West Sussex County Councillors have created viideo documentaries about their working lives.

Called Life as a County Councillor, the films feature several members of the authority, some of whom are backbench councillors, and all with differing backgrounds.

The series was created to encourage people of different political persuasions to stand in next year’s council elections.

Council leader Louise Goldsmith said: “These videos show younger and older people alike can get elected to work for their community, and take on bigger responsibilities.

“I am really grateful to everyone who took part in this series for allowing the cameras to come into their homes and film a little of their lifestyles.”

The films can be seen at westsussex.gov.uk .

Louise Goldsmith, it is a constant stream of comments like the above that mean many good people who would like to contribute and represent their communities do not volunteer.

See Louise Goldsmith, though you try and engage people, there is a vociferous minority that constantly do down people who get off their backsides to represent their community.
