A Sussex beer has been named as the third best in Britain.
Horsham’s Dark Star American Pale Ale received the bronze award at the Campaign for Real Ale’s (CAMRA) annual beer festival in London.
The local brewers narrowly lost out to Suffolk’s Green Jack brewery with their Trawlerboys Best Bitter taking silver and Coniston’s No 9 Barley Wine which was awarded the gold.=
Roger Protz, of Camra's judging panel, said: "We were overjoyed by the tremendous quality of the beers this year.
“There wasn't a poor beer in the competition. It was a tough choice and the final results were very close."
