A former boxer who forced a plane to make an emergency landing following a drunken row with his girlfriend has been jailed.
Ross Jameson caused a packed easyJet flight from Newcastle to Alicante to divert to Gatwick after a furious row with his girlfriend Jordan Summersgill.
The 23-year-old from Middlesborough was jailed for six months after admitting being drunk and disorderly on an aircraft and hindering a member of the crew at Lewes Crown Court on Friday following the incident in May.
Summersgill, 19 from Middlesborough, was fined £1,000 after admitting being drunk on a plane after appearing before magistrates in Haywards Heath in May.
