Christmas crackers Bob Beevis loves the festive season so much he has embraced it – four months early.

With people still slapping on the factor 30 and children not due to go back to school for a few weeks, Mr Beevis has invited Santa Claus to take a holiday from Lapland and head to the Sussex coast.

On Saturday and Sunday, Mr Beevis has organised a special Christmas weekend at his shop ESK, in Courtlands Road, Eastbourne.

He said he had invited Father Christmas especially – and he was the “best Father Christmas” |outside Florida.

He said: “Father Christmas is on holiday in Eastbourne for two days.

“He is the best outside of Disney World – and they make dreams come true.”

Mr Beevis, who is managing director of the shop which sells food and items for the home, added: “The kids will love it. We will have an area like a grotto. He will be making toys, talking to the kids and handing out sweets.

“He has to make his toys some time before Christmas and people can come and see him.

“Grandparents will love it too – they can bring their |grandchildren.

“Children can also put their wish list in.”

After The Argus cast doubt on him being the real Santa, Mr Beevis said: “It is the real Santa, dear. You can sit on his lap. He has got a lovely smile, he is excellent with kids.”

Mr Beevis, who lives in Eastbourne, first revealed his plans on his blog .

He said: “Santa is coming to ESK for a holiday (well that’s what we have told him anyway). He is bringing his elves and his animated display. Possibly the best you have seen. And it’s free.

“He will have his workshop and toymakers here making all the toys. The kids will love it they can come in and fill out a wish list and post it in Santa’s post box and see what the main man can do.”

Santa will be in the shop both days from 11am until 3pm.
