Woman sexually assaulted after night out
Police are hunting a man who sexually assaulted a woman and grabbed at another as they made their way home after a night out.
The man, who is described as being in his 40s, targeted the two women in the early hours of Sunday morning (August 12).
The first incident happened around 1.50am as a 20-year-old was walking down Highfield Road, East Grinstead.
The man grabbed her arm but fled after she hit him.
Just 40 minutes later in nearby Holtye Road, two women were walking home when he sexually assaulted one of them.
The man is described as white, in his mid 40s, of medium build, about 5ft 9 to 5ft 11 with short dark hair.
He was wearing a white T-shirt and light coloured jeans and was described as being twitchy.
DS Dave Morton said: "We are making enquiries in an effort to identify this man and in the meantime we have stepped up patrols in the area.
“We will be meeting with the women to create an E-fit picture and we will be publicising this in the hope that someone may recognise him.
"In the meantime I want people to be vigilant and call police on 999 if they see anyone acting suspiciously in the area.
“If anyone has any information that could help us in our inquiry they should contact police on 101.”
