An irate mini driver went on a road rage rampage which has left one man with head injuries.

The driver of a blue Mini mounted the curb in Denchers Plat in Crawley at just before 5.45pm on Sunday August 5 narrowly missing a resident and his son.

When the resident spoke to the driver, he was viciously attacked with punches thrown in his face.

Another man joined in the attack and the victim was left with nasty injuries to his face and head.

Just fifteen minutes earlier, the driver of a blue Mini was also involved in a road rage incident in Martyrs Avenue.

The driver of an Astra reported to the police that a blue Mini was flashing its headlights before overtaking him.

He then stopped his car and got out and then smashed through a window on the Astra with his fist before getting back in his vehicle and driving off at speed.

A 30-year-old man from Crawley was subsequently arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and has been released on police bail until September 6.

DC Celia MacDonald said: "This appears to be a series of events that has culminated in a man being beaten around the head, leaving him with some serious injuries.

"We are aware that this is a very tight knit community, but this was a vicious and unprovoked attack.

“It's imperative that those who witnessed what happened, or have information about it, come forward in order that those responsible can be brought to justice.”
