SIR – Having lived in Worcester with my family for more than 20 years before moving to Christchurch, Dorset, with my late husband, I have been disappointed on occasions when returning to Worcester to read and hear criticisms of Worcester’s hospital.

While visiting Worcester at the end of last month I started to experience fainting fits which necessitated an emergency procedure to have a heart pacemaker inserted.

I was admitted to Worcestershire Royal Hospital with the minimum fuss and although I was there only for a couple of nights I found myself in an immaculate, bright room in the main cardiac ward, attended to by a group of happy, kind and efficient staff who couldn’t do enough for me.

I am now back home again in Christchurch and felt that I must write, through the Worcester News , to thank everyone concerned – from the ward cleaner to the consultant.

Any further criticisms I come across will be taken with a big pinch of salt as I shall remember my enforced short stay and the friendly care I received.
