Gary Numan on his decision to have a facelift

Pop star Gary Numan has spoken about his decision to have a facelift – and says he would have another if necessary.

The Eighties star, best known for his synth hits Cars and Are Friends Electric, has also had five hair transplants to help maintain his image.

Gary, 54, lives in Waldron, near Uckfield, with wife Gemma and their three daughters Raven, Echo and Persia.

In an interview with a national newspaper he said he did not have the facelift done out of vanity but because in his job, looks are important.

He said his facelift had involved a cut right under the ear and then the muscles were moved back and reattached.

He said he had been really pleased with the results.

Gary said: “It's amazing. I was getting a bit saggy and jowly – I am again, come to think of it, I’ll have to have it redone.”

He told the newspaper that having the hair transplants, which he admitted were more down to vanity, had been really painful but worth doing.

Brilliant - a non news story taken from a national newspaper.

I thought he was moving overseas earlier in the year ?

Is the photo above a 'before' or an 'after' shot?

And why do media people always give their daughters stupid names like Fifi Trixibelle or Moon unit?

Ha ha. Almost a year since Gary 'announced' to the Argus that he would be moving his family to the USA because of last summer's riots.

Rather than having another 'face-lift', he would be better to save his money until brain transplants are available.

He's moving in the new year so you need not worry about about more non-stories involving someone you know nothing about.

I know this is an official photo, rather than one taken especially for the article - but wouldn't it have made sense to accompany this "story" with a picture which shows his real hair, rather than a shot of him in a cheap fancy-dress wig?

So what if he had a FL- Gary tries to keep low profile(for him and his family) but you lot(press) are desperate for anything!! it was only 10 weeks ago that the argus was head over heel with GN for a brill gig in Brighton- its all so shallow- FACT Gary Numan is talented and has produced innovative unique music for at least 30 years plus- no wonder he wants to emigrate - Uk is good at chasing talent away and inalienating truly creative people!!Its sad
