TWO burglaries and an attempted burglary in the Old Hastings area have been linked by police.

The first break-in happened on Friday July 27 at a house in Old London Road.

Thieves got in through the front door and stole two laptops, a Playstation 3 and a camera.

The second incident happened a week later on Friday August 3 in Harold Road. On this occasion, the offenders broke a window at the front of the house and stole jewellery.

On the same day, an attempted burglary took place in The Croft when would-be thieves unsuccessfully tried to break a window at the back of the house. Nothing was stolen.

Detective Sergeant Jason Tuck said: "Police are continuing to investigate these incidents but we are asking for the help of the public. If you notice someone behaving strangely, peering into the windows of a property or looking around to see if they are being watched, call police and report it - your call may just prevent a burglary from taking place.

"Please take the time to secure your doors and windows when you leave your home and consider leaving a radio and lights on to give the impression of someone being home."

If you have any information about the burglaries contact Police on the non emergency number 101 and quote Operation Flight or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

...and what exactly has an old picture of a police car with a parking ticket on the windscreen got to do with anything? No photos of Hastings?
