Lead singer of ABC backs Sussex charity

The lead singer of Eighties band ABC is taking part in a sponsored bike ride to support a Sussex charity.

Martin Fry, whose hits included Poison Arrow and Look of Love, will be joining thousands of cyclists travelling from London to Brighton next month.

The 60-mile event on September 8 is in aid of Horsham-based Action Medical Research.

Organisers are hoping the recent Tour de France and Olympic success of Bradley Wiggins and Sir Chris Hoy will help boost numbers.

Martin said: “The cycling bug seems to have swept the nation and being a huge fan of cycling myself, I'm really pleased to see it.

“I am delighted to be jumping on the saddle yet again in support of Action Medical Research. “Celebrating 60 years of vital research this year, they continue to fund breakthroughs into conditions affecting babies and children.”

“So all you cyclists, make those miles on your bikes count and sign up.”

Maybe Gary Numan could join him, and anyone under 40 could line the route asking "Who are those old gits?"

What is it with you 'Goldenwight'? You really are a miserable, backward-thinking dullard. Do you really only post comments, just to stir up people? Why don't you just go out for the day and enjoy the weather. Or alternatively, just keep yourself to yourself?
