Print and frame stolen from Rye house Print and frame stolen from Rye house

A limited edition print has been stolen during a burglary at a house in Rye.

The break-in happened at a house in Shipyard Lane/Rock Channel between 4pm and 5.30pm on Sunday July 15.

A 21" x 17" print, including the pine frame, depicting a fishing boat and Hastings Old Town covered in snow was stolen whilst the home owner worked in his garden.

The print is worth around £300, is a limited edition and looks like a painting.

Sergeant Warren Downs said: "This was a brazen crime in broad daylight by an opportunistic thief. In the warmer weather more and more people leave their properties insecure whilst in the garden or even just upstairs. Please ensure your property is secure at all times, it only takes a minute for a burglar to get in and out. For more advice on crime prevention please contact your local PC or PCSO."

Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting serial 1408 of 15/7. Alternatively, call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
