Thousands of music fans are preparing for a Bank Holiday celebration to remember as boyband JLS take to the stage on Monday, August 27.

Excitement is building as the final preparations for the outdoor show at the PROBIZ County Cricket Ground in Hove continue this weekend.

The band shot to stardom after finishing runners up in the X Factor in the 2008 series of the show.

Their concert follows in the footsteps of Elton John, who wowed thousands of fans with a successful show at the same venue last year.

The Met Office has put out a weather warning for wind and heavy rain on the Sussex coast on Saturday but the wind is expected to ease and only occasional light showers are forecast for Monday.

The show is part of the group's Sound City Summer Tour, and support is provided by last year's X Factor winners Little Mix and rising stars Cover Drive, I Am Tich, A*M*E and NVS, in association with Heart FM.

Tour spokesman Dion Clements said: “With the summer sun finally putting in some appearances and the London 2012 Olympics having raised the British feel-good factor, this tour is a top priority for music fans.”

The concert is one of a series of events being held over the Bank Holiday weekend as people enjoy the last major holiday of the year before Christmas.

Thousands are expected to be in Worthing on Monday for the annual Worthing Rotary Carnival parade and celebrations.

The carnival procession leaves Grand Avenue at 12.30pm and travels along Marine Parade, past the Stevens funfair to Steyne Gardens for the presentation of prizes.

There will be stalls, children's attractions, live music with Flash Company, food, a licensed bar and much more entertainment including an opportunity for a zumba workout with Lois Doe.

The fun continues through till 5pm.

DON’T miss The Argus on Tuesday for a picture special from the JLS concert.

A popular modern beat combo I believe.

I believe my old Grandad said the same thing as you when I told him Sweet were coming to town.

You are a funny man :-)
But it's The Sweet - if you don't mind!
And i doubt whether anyone will have a clue who JLS are in 30 years time, but they'll still be playing Ballroom Blitz!

JLS are truly awful. Hopefully soon to be playing Tuesday nights at Knackford recreation centre followed by being part of the identity parade on Never Mind the Buzzcocks.
The fans just seem so tragic. The turkey twizzler, x-factor wannabe generation.

I thought ballroom blitz was an underpants cleaning solution recently usurped by a dickinfectant named JLS
