Police investigating an attempted ram raid have made a fresh appeal for information.

Barclays Bank in Keymer Road, Hassocks, was targeted on August 6, at 3.15am, although thieves failed to get away with anything.

A digger was driven into the bank and the cash point machine dragged from the front of the building.

The machine was loaded on to a blue Toyota pick-up truck but the drivers of both vehicles, who were wearing dark clothing, ran off towards Chancellors Park leaving the unopened cash machine on the truck.

Now police are keen to speak to anyone who may have been approached about renting a barn or secure unit in the weeks before the raid.

Call Sussex Police on 101.

These guys seem to be a few sandwiches short of a picnic. Why don't the police ask local farmers if anyone was enquiring about hiring a ram to use in the raid?

Somehow the thought of Sussex Police being appealing fills me with dread!
