Those magnificent men in their flying machines cannot wait to take to the skies for the Shoreham Airshow.

The RAFA event, which will start today (September 1), is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the RAF central flying school. Now in its 23rd year, the display will feature a range of planes from the past.

Among them will be the Avro Vulcan and two GR4 Tornado aircraft provided by the RAF.

A Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will take place today while the Parachute Regiment’s Red Devils will drop in on the Sunday.

The airshow will also have flight simulators, a fun fair, a children’s circus, craft tent, trade stands and a large military vehicle parade.
