Kayakers rescued after going missing in misty conditions

A group of inexperienced kayakers had to be guided to safety after becoming lost in misty conditions this afternoon (September 8).
Eastbourne RNLI were launched shortly before 5.30pm when the group went missing near Pevensy Bay.
After a short search they were found and guided back to shore.
Visibility along the eastern part of the Sussex cost deteriorated rapidly in the middle fo the afternoon.
A coastguard spokesman said that at one stage in Eastbourne the visibility was no more than 20 metres.
