Albion striker needs your help to stop celebration own-goal
8:01am Tuesday 11th September 2012 in News By Neil Vowles
A star striker on a hot streak is hoping his fans can help him come up with a new goal celebration.
Albion star Craig Mackail- Smith was at a loss how to celebrate his goal against Burnley earlier this month and is asking for advice on how to mark his next goal.
The Argus has teamed up with Juice 107.2FM to help Mackail-Smith out and are looking to you the fans to come up with goal celebration suggestions.
The competition is called Celebrate My Success (CMS). Craig came up with the name with his girlfriend Amber Fry.
We are hoping that Seagulls’ supporters can come up with a suitable celebration in time for the striker to be able to put it to good use during Friday’s expected sell-out at home to Sheffield Wednesday.
The winner will also receive a pair of football boots signed by CMS.
The Scotland striker has already had fans tweeting him with ideas and suggestions after he asked for their help on Twitter two days after his wonder goal against Burnley.
The former Posh frontman celebrated that goal with a little slide on his back before being mobbed by his ecstatic team-mates.
The goal has since become an internet sensation and has been nominated for Sky Sports goal of the week.
Beached seal
Speaking on Guy Lloyd’s Juice 107.2FM drive time show last night, the Brighton striker said: “I have had quite a lot of stick about the celebration so I could do with some help.
“Ole Gunnar Solskjaer did something similar in the Champions League Final and damaged his knee.
“I started to slide and that just popped into my head so I went on my side and ended up like a beached seal.
“Ash gave me a dead leg, it was definitely not a decent celebration.
“The celebration can’t be too acrobatic, nothing like Kazenga LuaLua or I would be carried off on a stretcher.”
Do you think you can come up with CMS’s new celebration? Argus reporters Neil Vowles and Bill Gardner are pictured above having a go at their own celebrations but we are sure you can do better.
Text pictures and videos of you and your friends performing a goal celebration to 80360 with the catchline SUPIC or email them to news@theargus.co.uk and we will put the best ones on our website and in the paper before Friday’s game.
You can also go to the Juice Drive facebook page at www.facebook.com /JuiceDrive or visit www.juicebrighton.com to enter suggestions. For updates listen to Guy Lloyd weekdays, 3pm to 7pm.

Of you could slide on your knees to the corner flag with your arms out like Christ wait, wait wait for the players in the same costume to catch up, hug, fight them off, gesture to the crowd, rip off your shirt and delay play for as long as possible.
