Worthing driver due in court accused of knocking down cyclist

A 36-year-old driver is due in court accused of knocking down a cyclist and leaving him with serious injuries.

Michael Cardiff, of Harefield Avenue, Worthing, was arrested shortly after the crash in South Street, West Tarring, on June 25.

He has been charged with failing to stop at the scene of an accident, having no insurance, failing to give his name and address and dangerous driving and will appear at Worthing Magistrates' Court on September 18.

The 25-year-old cyclist, who is from Worthing, suffered multiple fractures and a serious head injury in the crash and is receiving on-going treatment for his injuries.
