An injured serviceman is enjoying a new lease of life as a motorbike racer.

Lance Corporal Murray Hambro of the Second Royal Tank Regiment is excelling on the track after losing both his legs in an IED explosion in Afghanistan in 2010.

L Cpl Hambro, from Upper Beeding, near Steyning, competed on a specially adapted Triumph Daytona 675R for the debut run last weekend of the True Heroes Racing team run by injured and able bodied UK Service personnel.

The team is now looking forward to taking part in other race meetings before competing in the 2013 Triumph Triple Challenge.

Chris in Brighton You make my blood boil. They get paid peanuts to protect people like you and do you know what they dont call themselves heros others do. When they signed up straight from school i am sure they did not know that the world would turn out like it has today. I wonder what a hero is to you if its not someone protecting your way of life. With people like you around i dont know why they bother.

Chrisinbrighton out of interest who is a hero to you..... spiderman? Batman? These men and woman that travel the world protecting our country and protecting others deserve some respect. Your bang out of order.

Best wishes to all in the forces. God be with you.

L Cpl Hambro. Massive respect to you. Fantastic machine and all the best in future racing

There's is nothing heroic about serving in the armed forces. These soldiers aren't heroes. They are suckers. Occupying foreign countries and killing the natives is not protecting our country. You guys commenting above need to open your eyes to the real world.
Please stop all this "hero" nonsense. It's wrong and it;s dangerous.
