Brighton Handball team off and running

Handball team has first training session Handball team has first training session

The Brighton Handball team have held their first official training session.

Organisers called the evening a “success” with eight enthusiastic players turning up to try their hand at the fast-paced sport.

We featured Juan Reig in Wednesday's Argus as he went about setting up a team in Brighton and Hove.

Following the article, he has been inundated with inquiries from all ages who were inspired by the action at the Olympic Games.

The club are now on the lookout for potential sponsors, with the aim to get a team in the south of England league.

We will be following the group's progress as part of the Our Olympic Legacy campaign. We will inform you of opportunities to try new sports, promote initiatives and schemes and put pressure on local authorities to follow up on the Government's legacy promises.

If you would like to play or enquire about sponsorship then email: brighton.handball.uk@gmail.com. The group's website is also now online: www.brightonhandball.com.

Handball is a terrific game.
It is massive in Europe, and Brighton should take this sport on board.
