Wanted: dancing zombies for Brighton video
1:29pm Monday 17th September 2012 in News
A duo behind a zombie themed music video due to be filmed in a Brighton park is asking the public to get involved.
Charis Williams, 31, has teamed up with her friend Joanna Gormley and unsigned musicians to create the Halloween video in Brighton.
The pair from Brighton are hoping their video will help talented unsigned musicians who take part to get their feet on the career ladder.
They also want other budding zombies to turn up to the shooting of the video, ZombeatZ, in Brighton on Saturday.
Charis co-presented ‘The New Reclaimers’ on The Home Channel and then attended film school where she learned how to shoot her own footage.
She said: “I love films and I want to get into the film and music scene. I hope ZombeatZ can help achieve the dreams of those involved.”
The lyrics for the song have been provided by up-and-coming rapper Bady Touray, 24, aka Lil Blak.
“I was approached by my promotions management about this fantastically quirky but ambitious Halloween Zombie video and I jumped at the chance to be involved.
“I love pushing my creative boundaries and this project was the perfect opportunity to do so.”
He added: “It’s Thriller with a modern twist. I love zombies, they’re so much fun and I love dressing up.”
The film has been made on a shoestring budget and no one is being paid. Charis said everyone was is in it ‘for the love and the film credit’.
Charis managed to secure zombie themed contact lenses and sponsorship from ColourVUE, with gore and blood provided by Brighton fancy dress shop REVAMP in Sydney Street.
Jo said: “We are amazed at the response we have had from the public and we have had so many industry professionals contacting us to ask if they can get involved, the emails are constant.”
Charis is on the lookout for more Zombies, saying: “If you can walk, run, dance or slither like a zombie, come as gory and disgusting as possible for a fun day of filming.”
ZombeatZ will be filmed at Stanmer Park, Brighton, on Saturday, September 22, at 10am.
