A burglar threatened an elderly couple with a knife in their own home before stealing £25.
A man forced his way through the front door of a home in Gatehouse Lane, Burgess Hill and threatened the couple, both in their 80s, with a knife.
The pair were badly shaken and were checked over by paramedics at the scene but were not physically injured.
The suspect is described as white, aged between 25 and 30, slim, about 6' tall, clean shaven, wearing a dark baseball cap, a navy and white horizontal striped polo shirt, navy trousers and light
coloured trainers.
Anyone with information should contact Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 1578 of 16/9.

If in doubt, never open the door to anyone you don't know, however plausible their request. If they say they are an official, get them to put their ID through the letter box, so you can check it and/or call their office. If they are geniune, they will understand.
I have said before on this site that CCTV can be installed very cheaply these days. Friends and family can do it for their elderly loved ones.
These cameras come with sound, colour and even night vision for the winter months. NEVER open your door to strangers and just ignore their knock at the door. If you are suspicious call the Police.
