Albion manager Gus Poyet turned back the clock to show he has lost none of his skills.

Poyet, who was famed for his acrobatic volleys during a career with Chelsea and Spurs, proved he still had it when he took part in a game of footvolley along Brighton seafront.

The Uruguayan appeared alongside coaches Charlie Oatway and Mauricio Taricco and visited Yellowave beach sports venue in Madeira Drive, Brighton, to try out the sport which originates from Brazil and involves teams of two players using their head, chest and feet to pass a ball over a net. Yellowave sports manager Damo Sulc said: "I was really impressed with his skill.

“I even saw him do a bicycle kick to win a point.”

Yellowave were about to cut short the Brighton Footvolley team's session, until they heard that Gus and his team were appearing, and The Argus were going to be taking some pics. This was arranged by the Brighton FV team, and Yellowave are getting the publicity. How about a feature on the Brighton FV team, Argus editor?
