Put your questions to leading Brighton businessman and policeman

Would you like to quiz key figures in the county? Are there questions you would love to get the answers to?

We are giving you the chance to put questions to leading figures, politicians and business people across Sussex as part of a new feature called Your Interview.

Next week Brighton Pavilion Green MP Caroline Lucas will be answering your questions.

Now we are giving you the chance to put questions to Brighton businessman Mike Holland and Chief Superintendent Graham Bartlett, the head of policing in the city, right.

Do you want to quiz Mr Holland about developments in the city, the council’s Green administration or anything else that springs to mind? Or perhaps you want to ask Chief Superintendent Bartlett about policing plans for Brighton and Hove?

Please email your questions for Mr Holland to john.keenan@theargus.co.uk and questions for Chief Superintendent Bartlett to ben.parsons@theargus.co.uk .

Yes I would like to ask the Police representative a question!

As a law abiding citizen, who has never, ever committed even the smallest of misdemeanors, I'd like him to tell me, why some of his Police Officers, come across as; Rude! Obnoxious! And Arrogant!

It seems, that they treat even innocent members of the public as common criminals, and they don't know what the meaning of, of treating the public with common courtesy!

They are alienating the public! Me included!

As for Mike Holland???

Since when was demolishing a listed building (The old Astoria Cinema in London Road), known as redevelopment???

Architectual vandalism!

When is the Engineerium going to reopen to visitors given that it's been closed for 6 years? Do the exhibits still run like they did before it was closed?

I'd also like to ask the Police representative a question!
I'd like to ask him how he would deal with obnoxious, rude and ignorant people who post on local news websites constantly criticizing the police at every opportunity. It seems that these people clearly have a huge chip on their shoulder and don't know the meaning of treating the police with common courtesy! I'd ask him if he feels that perhaps in some people's eyes the police could never ever do anything right no matter what they do.

I would like to ask the Police representative why nothing at all is being done about the huge numbers of cyclists riding on pavements, often at great speed. I have had many near misses from these lunatics, and there are still reports of pedestrians being injured by them. The huge encouragement by the Green Party in cycling around the city has increased the preponderance of this crime, yet no authority is accepting responsibility for it. Are they waiting for a death of a pedestrian before they will take action?

I would like to ask the police person why there is an inconsistent approach to managing anti-social behaviour.
For example, if you live in The Hawk or Moulsecoomb and report young people for anti-social behaviour the police respond and community officers get involved.
If you report university students for exactly the same types of behaviour, residents are asked to phone the university community reps or contact the council.
Why are some young people treated differently from others and why are residents not being supported equally across the city.

People, I know how difficult it can be to read the leading article, especially for those who have trouble with words of more than two syllables, but it does actually say: "Please email your questions for Mr Holland to john.keenan@theargus
.co.uk and questions for Chief Superintendent Bartlett to ben.parsons@theargus
.co.uk . " Curiously, it doesn't say, put your questions on the comments section below and we'll trawl through them to see if there's any really good questions that we can pick out and put to them.
But then I suspect that some won't let reality get in the way of a good trolling opportunity...

Fascinating to see all posts just attacking other posters.

Nothing completely pointless about that, eh?

(Oh and, yep, I am a hypocrit!)

Err...when was it illegal to be obnoxious, rude and ignorant?

Police are 'expected' to be polite and easy to communicate with. They get paid pretty well for doing that.

My father was a policeman and wouldn't have dreamed of acting the way police in Brighton act.

I stopped a police car driving through Preston Park at speed with no lights a couple of months ago and was threatened with pepper spray.

Police in Brighton are a bit out of control for some reason.

Funny really I've never found them to be rude or obnoxious. This makes me wonder what you're doing that seems to bring this out in them.
