91-year-old man hit by car

A 91-year-old pensioner was seriously hurt when he was knocked down by a car.

The incident happened at the junction between North Road and Sompting Road in Lancing at 3.52pm on Wednesday.

The blue Daewoo Matiz, driven by a 23-year-old woman from Durrington, hit a 91-year-old man from Lancing, who was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital with serious injuries.

Anyone who saw what happened is asked to call police on 101 quoting Operation Kingston.

Change the word "car" for "bicycle" in this article and dozens of ranting half-wits will be demanding registration plates for cycles and compulsory wearing of hi-viz via the Argus comments section.
However, judging by the lack of comments here, they all seem to think that people getting run over by motor vehicles is acceptable. What a strange country this is.
