Get you hands on a bit of seafront history
4:00pm Saturday 22nd September 2012 in News
History lovers are to be given one last chance to get their hands on a little bit of seafront history.
The West Pier Trust is offering original cast iron pieces of the West Pier that are damaged or surplus to requirements as the site is cleared in preparation for the i360 .
All proceeds from sales will go towards the trust’s plans to restore the original 1866 octagonal pier kiosk on the seafront and develop a historic seafront schools’ education programme at the Fishing Museum.
The next sale will be on Sunday September 30 between 10am and 12.30pm in the pier compound.
For more information call 01273 321499 or email rachel@westpier.co.uk.

I see Hastings has been able to sort out their pier but good old (talk about it and then do nothing) Brighton & Hove will end up with another thing to add to the list of developments we didn't do or look after

The West Pier is one of the few things genuinely iconic and beautiful left in Brighton, myself aside (of course).
The appalling eyesore 360 will have little else for customers to talk about - apart from the amount of bird poo and whether they can get their money back.
The fishing museum sounds like a blast. - I assume privately educated children will be able to pay to not go there.
