Burgess Hill home wrecked by fire

More than a third of a house was damaged by a fire.

A quarter of the downstairs of a home in Wisden Avenue, Burgess Hill, was wrecked in the blaze at 10.20am on Saturday.

Meanwhile ten percent of the property’s attic was also wrecked by fire. The rest of the house was ruined by smoke, a West Sussex Fire and Rescue spokesman said.

He said the fire was thought to have been caused accidentally.

Two pumps from Burgess Hill and one from Hurstpierpoint attended.

Four breathing apparatus and two hose reels were used.

No one was injured in the fire.

hahahaha! What a stunning grasp of maths!

"More than a third of a house was damaged by fire"

A quarter of the downstairs, and 10% of the attic...

So, a quarter of the downstairs which is half the house is 1/8th or 12.5% of the total plus 10% of the attic

That's much less than a 1/3rd of a house Anna!

FAIL. Remedial maths for you this winter!
