Sussex braces itself for high winds and rain
Sussex is facing a battering from the weather with high winds of up to 70mph expected as well as heavy rain.
The Met Office has issued an amber severe weather warning for the region with the possibility of flooding.
Torrential downpours are expected today with up to 80mm predicted in some places and warnings of localised disruption.
Coastal areas can expect gusts of up to 70mph with inland areas experiencing gusts up to 60mph.
Combined with the rain, the Met Office said travel is likely to be affected.
It added it was unclear at present where the heaviest rain would fall.
But it is likely to clear northwards during the day.

Right then!!! So...how many people are going to get themselves into unnecessary trouble on the underpass in Rottingdean again? Why are people so daft as to go along there when the weather's as dangerous as it can get? Beggers belief. And sometimes with small children and push chairs. Numpties, the lot of them.
