This proud family has certainly won the generation game. Four women from the same family line sat together for the first time to welcome their latest arrival, newborn baby Jemima.

Jemima is being held by her 27-year-old mother Gemma Bacon from Brighton.

Sitting next to her is proud grandmother Wendy Cranmer, 48, followed by her mother Rita Downing, 73, and her mother Alma Edwards, 96.

Mrs Bacon said Alma had been “pleased as punch” to become a great-great-grandmother.

She said: “It was a magical moment to all be in the same room.

“When I found out I was pregnant I was so excited and I knew we wanted to get the picture of us all together.

“We are so lucky – I think we have got good genes. We are a really close family and I’m so glad my great-nan got a chance to see Jemima.”
