Newhaven yobs use chick as a ball Newhaven yobs use chick as a ball

A young bird that was used as a ball by a gang of yobs has now been released back into the wild after making a full recovery.

The fledgling dunnock was rescued by a passer-by who spotted it being thrown around by teenagers in Gibbon Road, Newhaven, in June.

The bird was cared for at East Sussex Wildlife Rescue and Ambulance Service’s rescue centre at Whitesmith, near Uckfield.

The tiny bird has recovered after weeks of hand feeding at the centre.

We need to start a campaign to get Angry Birds banned as soon as possible: clearly, it's the root cause of this despicable behaviour.
