A historic Hove bathhouse is to receive greater protection after a successful campaign.

Campaigners have been successful in asking Brighton and Hove City Council to create a planning brief to outline what sort of redevelopment would be acceptable on the site of Medina House in Hove.

This should help preserve the Royal Doulton tiling on the interior of the building.

It comes after a petition of more than 320 signatures was presented to the local authority .

Among those who signed were Hove MP Mike Weatherley former planning professionals and developers. Earlier this year, the owners of the building were given a council order to carry out external renovation work.

The planning brief is expected to be drafted in the coming months.
