Police puppy Troy is an online sensation
Despite being just three months old, Alsatian Troy has amassed close to 1,000 followers on Twitter.
The puppy, who has been taken on by the Sussex Police Dog Unit, has become something of an online sensation, with his handler posting regular updates and pictures of his progress.
He was introduced to the world on September 14 with the tweet: “Hi all I’m Troy, born 06/06/12. Hoping to 1 day be a fully fledged member of the @suspoldogunit.”
Since then his followers have steadily increased with a group of well-wishers regularly Tweeting him.
He released his first photos on September 14, with the message: “Hi everyone, this is me now. I am growing fast. Everyone tells me I have big feet. Thanks for following me.”
But just days later, following overwhelming demand, the pup published some baby shots. He Tweeted: “Embarrassing photo time. This was me on my first evening away from my mum. I think I was eight weeks old.”
Some of Troy’s older colleagues are also on the social networking site and the Alsatians and Spaniels regularly talk to each other.
On September 15, Troy posted: “I hope all my older work colleagues had a good Friday night. Mine was fab with a big chew and watching The Hunger Games.”
But it isn’t all walks and dog chews for Troy. He is already in the process of being trained to be part of the Sussex Dog Unit.
Recent Tweets have spoken of trips to Gatwick and baby teeth falling out to make way for the sort of pearly whites the breed is known for. One day the cute puppy will be a vital member of the force.

By the way, us GSD owners prefer them to be known by their correct title -German Shepherd Dog, NOT Alsation!
He's still gorgeous though!

Handlers like Michelle Innis@gatpol have a special course so they can drive to Grade 1's whilst in control of a hot pasty.
"its a left left left, no deviation, road condition's poor, pasty hot..not 1, not 1 but 2 pasties........
Do not force the pasty down, keep it comming.
H900 has got the pasty on infa red.
