Pensioner seriously hurt following crash on Brighton Seafront
A 73-year-old suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car on Brighton Seafront yesterday afternoon (September 27).
The man was knocked over by a black Subaru Impreza around 5pm on the A259 Kings Road at the junction with Preston Street.
He was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital with serious leg injuries which are not thought to be life threatening.
A 45-year-old from Peacehaven was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and was later released on police bail until November 16.
The section of road was closed for several hours while collision investigators gathered evidence.
A Sussex Police spokesman said; "Anyone who saw the collision or the vehicle or pedestrian just beforehand is asked to call us on 101 quoting Operation Kempsey."
