Travellers to be moved on from Brighton's Black Rock
11:30am Wednesday 3rd October 2012 in News
Travellers are to be moved from a high-profile site. An unauthorised encampment is currently in place at Black Rock, on Brighton seafront.
However, Brighton and Hove City Council has secured a notice to move the group on.
A local authority spokesman said: “We have visited this site with police. Due to forthcoming events taking place on this land we will be serving notices under Section 77 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 requiring the owners of these vehicles to move before the weekend.”
He added that the council would also be going to the county court to secure an order to move another group from the car park of Greenleas recreation ground in Hangleton.
