Police linking two Worthing armed robberies

A second Worthing bookmakers’ has been robbed.
Police are linking it to a robbery in the town the night before.
At around 7.15pm last night a man entered Betfred in Brougham Road and threatened a male member of staff with a knife. The man demanded money.
The suspect ran from the store without any money after becoming aware that there was a customer in the shop. He ran east along the road and then got onto a small bike No-one was injured as a result of the incident.
The suspect is described as white, 20 to 30-years-old, 5ft 8inches to 5ft 10inches, of average build, with a southern accent.
He was wearing a black jacket, black woollen gloves and dark grey balaclava. He was carrying a knife and a green plastic bag.
Detective Constable Jamie Carruthers said: "We are keen to hear from anyone who saw a man acting suspiciously in the area around the betting shop before the incident or anyone who saw a man leaving the shop and getting onto a BMX-style bike with a green plastic bag and riding away."
Detectives are linking this incident with a robbery at Ladbrokes in Rowlands Road on Tuesday evening.
