Trees down across Sussex amid gales warning

Police warned people to take care on the roads this morning after trees came down.
A Sussex Police statement said: “A very autumnal morning. Please take care on the roads, a couple of reports of trees down in the Worthing and Horsham areas.”
On Twitter people said there were trees on the road, warning people to stay safe. One person wrote: “Lots of branches and debris on A26 between Lewes and Uckfield.”
Another said: “It’s pretty treacherous along A259 Rottingdean-Brighton. Especially for us van/lorry drivers. Take care.”
There were also reports of a tree down on the A259 Exceat Hill, the A273 at Pyecombe and in Moreland Avenue, Worthing.
